We offer a number of pigmentation treatments at Bellair. Below we outline the treatments we offer in greater detail along with guidance on which treatment may be best for your skin. All prices are listed under skin treatments on our shop page.
During a photofacial treatment or photorejuvenation session, brown spots/discolourations will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly pink. This typically lasts a few hours to possibly a few days. During a time span of one to three weeks post your photofacial treatment, the darkened spots will flake off and/or fade and facial capillaries or diffused redness will decrease.
NOTE: Individual Results May Vary
How Does IPL Work?
IPL is great for those with freckles or sun spots that are superficial. It is not suitable for darker skin types as well as those with larger patches of pigment. It is superficial therefore it brightens the skin however it does not provide deep skin rejuvenation. Picosure or Fraxel may be a better option if you have skin textural concerns. See the video above for a live IPL treatment.
Fraxel is known for skin resurfacing however it is also designed for pigmentation. The new secondary DUAL handpiece with a wavelength of 1927nm specifically targets pigmentation. This is still a fractional treatment however this wavelength provides more coverage for pigment and targets specifically the layer in where pigment rests in the skin.
How Does Fraxel Work?
The following video shows how Fraxel works. This treatment is best for those with pigment of all shapes and sizes and is an ideal treatment for those who want to see skin textural improvements as well. This treatment is great for those who can afford social downtime.
Picosure is a new generation of lasers and is considered a breakthrough in laser technology! It delivers ultra-short pulse bursts of energy to the skin in trillionths of a second to gently target and eliminate pigment without harming the surrounding skin. PicoSure is designed to activate the body’s natural immune response while minimizing injury and discomfort. Because it uses gentle pressure instead of dangerous, damaging heat there’s no need for a long, painful recovery. In fact, most patients only experience a few hours of mild redness. If you are looking for a treatment which yields dependable results with little to no downtime, you’re looking for Picosure.
How Does Picosure Work?
Picosure is a great option for those who don’t want the downtime that comes with Fraxel. It helps to get rid of pigment however we can also upgrade the treatment to include PICOSURE FOCUS which retextures the skin without downtime. The pigment gradually fades with every treatment unlike Fraxel or IPL where the spot flakes off or crusts off.
